These parallel portfolios were printed since July, 2016. Some of the photos date back to 2005.

In these photographs, I strive to document and transmit to you, the viewer, the inspiring mood of the places photographed. The photographs are of landscapes, or elements of landscapes, yet I hesitate to describe them as landscape photography.

I don’t seek to explain everything about the subjects of the photos, but to convey the atmosphere which draws me in. If viewers comment that my photographs make them wish they could experience the locations shown, that will be the highest compliment I can get.

These subjects are rural scenes, usually off the beaten path. They usually include the effects of nature, weather, and seasons. Tracks of wildlife or the patterns of waves are prominent reasons for me to choose to print an image. Man-made objects are downplayed. When a man-made object is included, it is usually a subtle punctuation to the scenery.  

Clues to the scale of the area documented are usually subtle or difficult to distinguish.

There is a great deal of simple rustic beauty in these places, which are constantly changing when we are not there to observe. I try to share my appreciation of these concepts.
